Need (3) Professional Letters of recommendation.
Essay requirement on the topic "Why you would like to be a
Licensed Practical Nurse".
Current Georgia Nursing Aide License
Requirements For Clinicals
Basic Life Support Certification.
Verification of health and malpractice insurance.
PPD and/or chest x-ray results.
Covid-19 Vaccine. (Externship)
Record of physical exam with physicians’ statement that the
student is in satisfactory health.
Hepatitis screen and documentation of immunity to varicella,
rubella, measles, and tetanus.
A signed document acknowledging that the commission of a felony
before or during enrollment in this program, may prevent graduates
from taking the licensure exam to become Practical Nurses (PNs).
Students are required to complete drug tests and background check
at their own expense prior to participating in externship,
practicum, or clinical activities at certain host sites for these
activities. (Note: Blank documents are available from the program
chair or the Admissions office)
Admissions to Mentee College do not guarantee admissions to the
Practical Nurse Program.
Practical Nurse Admissions application opens every November and
closes in January for the subsequent year fall cohort
PN applicants interview starts February and ends in April
Competitive Admissions: Candidates are selected to the PN program
based on prerequisites. Admissions to the Admissions to
Pre-Practical Nurse Program do not guarantee admissions to the
Practical Nurse Program (occupational curriculum).
Program Costs & Medical Requirements: Tuition ($460 per credit
hour); Additional costs; Uniform Scrubs, Shoes, Books, liability
insurance, background check and drug screening; immunizations for
clinicals; exam fee for certification. More costs may be added
during program.
Georgia Board of Nursing
Upon completion of the program, a Practical Nursing graduate will be
eligible to write the NCLEX-PN and apply for licensure with the
Georgia Board of Nursing (GBON).
